In 1990 Kylie Rose McLean graduated from the University of Technology, Sydney with a Bachelor of Design in Interior Design. Her skills were immediately transferred to the film industry and after completing a Certificate in Production Design at the Australian Film Television & Radio School she went on to design and art direct on various film and television projects.

After 10 years in the film and television industry Kylie Rose is expanding her talents in a new direction.

Design has always been her focal point. Kylie Rose is driven by a sense of individuality and independence, highlighted within the areas of expertise she has worked. Her interior design studies provided a broad understanding of the design world that translated well to film, requiring broader skills beyond sets and props.

Now she brings those design sensibilities to textiles. All these skills have built up to arrive at bidi, embodying the diverse nature of her influences and experience. Kylie Rose balances colour, texture and pattern, bringing an unexpected and enduring quality to each piece.
